Accidents not only happen on the road but also online as the images of the facelifted 2018 BMW M2 have unexpectedly been leaked on the official webpage of BMW Belgium. It fully revealed the forthcoming sport coupes in all its glory.
Bimmer Today first reported that images of BMW's sport coupe have been published in its Belgian website and of course they captured the first images of the facelift coupe, which you can watch in the video below. But BMW Belgium took down the images and details from its web page. Talk about someone getting in big trouble for that.
If indeed the published images of the forthcoming 2018 BMW M2 were real, then they seemingly look much like the current model. And like its big brother the M4 coupe, the BMW 2 Series received minor cosmetic updates.
You'll need a closer look to notice a slightly modified full-LED adaptive headlight complete with the "angel eyes," exuding a more angular configuration, instead of looking round. The other parts of the front seem to be untouched.
Out back of the forthcoming 2018 BMW M2, the sport coupe is fitted with revised taillight clusters. But the rear diffuser, exhaust, and other style lines have also been untouched. These minor changes should also make its way to the top dog of the family, the 2 Series.
Under the hood of the forthcoming 2018 BMW M2 should relatively remain the same 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine, which is good for 365 horses and 343 lb-ft of torque. However, reports also point that a new B58 modular design engine could be housed under the hood of the forthcoming sport coupe.
Its interior remains a mystery. But BMW's iDrive infotainment system could very well be the biggest change in the sport coupe's cabin.
There is not official date as to when BMW will take the covers off the forthcoming 2018 BMW M2 and 2 Series. But this could very well be next year. Until then, stay tuned for more updates.
