Toyota seems to catch many attentions of active young families with their new 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure model, which just made its world debut at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. Now with a taller ride height than the standard RAV4, the new model should have some appeal for customers who prefer a little extra capability for exploring the great outdoors.
The new RAV4 is available in front-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential or all-wheel drive. It gets a tow prep package the come as standard equipment that adds an upgraded radiator and additional coolers for its engine oil and transmission fluid.
Like all the RAV4s, the new 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure comes standard with Trailer Sway Control and Hill-Start Assist Control. What sets the new adventure apart from other RAV4s are its new 18-inch black aluminum wheels, lower bodyguards, larger fender flares, and special badges. To look more aggressive, Toyota has added a black headlight bezel, fog light surrounds, and roof rack.
The vehicle still gets a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine that produces 176 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission to send more power to the road.
On the inside, the cabin gets some nice touches. Toyota promises a unique interior trim panels, a 12-volt outlet in the cargo hold, a leather-wrapped shifter, and Adventure-branded door sills and floor mats that matched with the vehicles badges on the CUV's exterior.
In addition, the new RAV4 will be available in five exterior colors including Black, Silver Sky Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Super White, and one new color for RAV4 models, a Ruby Flare Pearl.
Other features will include an optional heat/power fabric front row seats, heated steering wheel, and a wiper de-icer as part of a new Cold Weather Package. Toyota hasn't confirmed the pricing for the new 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure yet, but expect it to start around $29,985. The car goes on sale in September.
