Interestingly, "Logan" features several futuristic cars carrying luxurious brands as well. Moviegoers can spot a Chrysler Limo, and the Reavers which include a Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500.
In an interview with Jalopnik, "Logan" artist and designer Nick Pugh shared that he collaborated with production designer Francois Audouy to head the latest Wolverine movie's automotive creative team. Nick Pugh talked about how each car was crafted to comply with the 2029 theme of the "Logan" movie.
For the futuristic limousine, the 2016 Chrysler 300 was chosen to be utilized in the "Logan" movie. The film required an extremely larger and wider limo so the creative team wrapped the current Chrysler 300 with a bigger cover. Consequently, the huge futuristic Chrysler Limo required huge tires and wheels so the creative team also came up with bigger versions.
Apparently, the new body wrap of the futuristic Chrysler Limo served a dual purpose too. Aside from the futuristic look, the new body wrap serves as an additional panel to catch all the dirty works and smash up requirements of the scene. The new body wrap helps ensure the current Chrysler 300 will not get hurt while it appears to go through hell in the scenes of "Logan."
With regard to the stunt cars used by the Reavers, the half-human-half-robot villains, the creative team chose the Ram 1500 for the hero car while the Jeep Cherokee were used for the other Reavers. The cars for the villains required gigantic 4x4 chassis. The creative team needed to create a high-tech interior to match the dauntless Reavers.
Meanwhile, "Logan" creative team chose to feature fully autonomous trucks instead of autonomous cars. This concept came out to be one of the selling points of the movie as it would be very interesting to see how the roads in 2029 will give way to self-driving trucks.
