"The Winds of Winter" fever continues to circulate on the mill. Although there is no official announcement, there are some statements from George R.R. Martin that seem to drop hints about the release date and plot of the much-awaited sixth novel of "A Song of Ice and Fire."
On a Reddit discussion, a user has figured that GRRM has previously mentioned about the character Mago in his interview in 2011 with Entertainment Weekly. The Reddit user mentioned that Mago is still alive in the books.
The Reddit user's theory stems from the author's statement saying Mago will recur in "The Winds of Winter." The author explained in the interview that Mago is "particularly nasty bloodrider to one of the other Khals that's broken away after Drogo dies," StarsPost reported.
Meanwhile, in another Reddit discussion, the author mentioned about a major twist in the upcoming "TWoW." This change in the plot is so great that the author will need more time to revise the book, hence causing further delay in the release. In addition, according to George R.R. Martin, his new concept is so great but it is not possible to include in the "Game of Thrones" show.

Speaking of "Game of Thrones," a new report says GRRM is contemplating on making a cameo in the show. Fansided reported that a fan has asked the author if there is any chance that fans will see the author appear in season 8 of the hit TV series. The latter then replied with "Anything is possible."
George R.R. Martin has not released any official statement regarding the final release date of the highly anticipated "The Winds of Winter" novel. However, as previously reported, GRRM seems to have publicly confirmed a time frame for the release date.
While waiting for the "TWoW," GRRM's cameo in the upcoming season 8 of "GoT" series could be an interesting sight to keep the excitement going for the fans of "TWoW."
With regard to the release date, there is no new hint available but as per our previous report, the author seems to have dropped a clue. In a recent discussion about Wild Cards in Facebook, GRRM's reply to a fan's query was quickly picked up by another fan who reposted a screenshot on the latter's Twitter account. In the discussion, George R.R. Martin commented on a fan's query on the release date of "TWoW" by saying the book will no longer take 4 years to be out.
Although not an official announcement, it is good enough to know George R.R. Martin replied with a time frame so fans can also be assured that the book is still coming out. For more details, you may want to check our previous report on "The Winds of Winter."
