Ford Kuga has been reviewed to compare with Mazda CX-5. As a result, the crossover from Mazda has defeated Kuga in majority of points of comparison.
In terms of price, the Ford Kuga has a price tag of $38,800 (£31,795) while the Mazda CX-5 costs cheaper at $38,100 (£31,195).
The Mazda CX-5 sports a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that can produce 173bhp and 420Nm of torque. This crossover beats the Ford Kuga from delivering only 400Nm of torque. On the other hand, Kuga has 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel that can deliver 178bhp.

The CX-5 is also impressively lighter than the Kuga by almost 100kg. The former weighs only 1,628kg while the latter tips the scale at 1,716kg.
Upon in-gear tests, the CX-5 shows off to be stronger than the Kuga. During the test, the former also speeds up faster than the latter.
On steering, the controls of Mazda CX-5 gave more feedback than Ford Kuga, despite the latter's advantage in grip. Both crossovers' steering were accurate and balanced in weight.
The Ford Kuga's six-speed unit produces smooth and rapid shifts while cruising. However, the crossover trips over itself when moving at low speed.
However, the CX-5 created much noise compared to the Kuga. The former lacks soundproofing and has low-profile tires.
Finally, the test review resulted to Mazda CX-5 as the better SUV than the Ford Kuga, AutoExpress has concluded.
In another comparison, the Kuga has the lowlier warranty coverage compared to the CX-5. The former offers three years / 100,000km while Mazda offers a three-year warranty with unlimited-kilometer deal.
With regard to maintenance, the Ford crossover requires inspection at 10,000km or annually, whichever comes first. On the other hand, Mazda is quite lenient as it only requires inspection at 15,000km.
For resale value, the Mazda CX-5 retains 68.4 percent of its latest price even after three years. Whereas, the Ford Kuga only retains 56.6 percent. On top of the review, Motoring has noted that the Mazda CX-5 is still far better than the Ford Kuga in terms of after-sales service.
