The BMW 4-Series have kept on making updates to keep the car attuned to the times. The entire family, 4-Series, 4- Series Convertible, 4-Series Gran Coupe, the M4 and M4 comfortable will be updated for the 2018 model year.
According to a report by Motor Authority, the upcoming changes will be mostly aesthetic just like those that were lately done for the entire BMW 3-Series family. It is expected that there will be fewer changes in body design and engine makeup than in the external and internal appearance of the cars in the BMW4-Series.
The usual items that are always subject to updates are headlights and fog lights. These two items are the first to be changed including the bumpers which are traditionally up for revision.
Snapper Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange will be added to the color palette to brighten up the new models. A few additional trims are to be made available and instrument panels adorned with fashionable double stitching.
One of the most enjoyable features of a car is the infotainment system that it offers. BMW 4-series have been known to have good video and audio setups but updates on the infotainment menus will be made for more entertaining moments.
Improvements on the suspension setups of the standard 4-Series give the cars stiffer sportier handling capacities while providing smooth riding comfort for the passengers. Changes apply to both the M Sport and Adaptive suspensions used in the BMW 4-series cars.
There has been no confirmation about the changes in engine specification since this is usually to last to be addressed. No changes in the engine and transmission specs are expected to be made on the 2018 models.
The 430i will still be powered by a 248-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and the 440i by the 320-hp inline 6 turbocharged 3.0-liter engine. All the other planned changes for the entire BMW 4-Series will be done in the 2018 year models.
