The BMW 5 Series recently won a prestigious award at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show. The accolade given was the EyesOn Design Award for The Best Designed User Experience.
As reported by Auto123, the EyesOn Design awards are officially sanctioned by the North American International Auto Show that confers honors to the best production and concept cars that are debuting in Detroit. The BMW 5 series, the seventh generation of the German luxury sedan, has been consistently given such honors from the car industry.
The BMW 5 series got the nod of the judges for the latest design and modern technology that the car featured in its latest model. The idrive 6.0, human-machine interaction, the BMW Gesture Control, Head-up display, remote 3-D View and Voice Control System were all in place to get the attention of the judges.
Such innovation in driving experience coupled with Remote Control Parking and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems are prelude to ultimate goal of semi-automated driving. BMW has brought all the technologies at its disposal into the 5 series and was truly honored to receive the award.
"BMW has long been a pioneer in advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) technologies and the new 5 Series brings together everything we have learned in our 100 year history. It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious award from EyesOnDesign for the Best Designed User Experience on the all-new BMW 5 Series." said Ludwig Willisc, BMW President and CEO in North America.
The BMW 5 Series will be made available in U.S. car dealers by the end of the first quarter of 2017. It is similar in design to the bigger 7 series luxury car and is initially priced at $51,200.
The new BMW 5 Series is a little bigger than the Mercedes E-Class and is longer and more spacious than the old BMW S-series. The BMW 5 Series really deserves to win the EyesOn Design Award for The Best Designed User Experience.
