After a few months, in which we have seen numerous prototypes of the model, spy photographers were able to capture for the first time the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with very minimal camouflage and looking like it is on its final version, ready for production.
Although it still has the usual camouflage vinyl, the development team Chevrolet has already dispensed the thick black tarps that hid the new features of the model. From the looks of it, the biggest, baddest and most powerful corvette is ready to debut and dominate soon.
The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 fresh spy photos according to AutoBlog is believe to be the most radical aerodynamic variant of the new ZR1, as they have been sighted several prototypes with different configurations rear wing. Which suggests that the brand could offer this model in different performance levels, each with a specific aerodynamic package.
Most importantly recent spy photos shows its front naked again. As we could foresee the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will have a much more aggressive look than those seen in the C7 range, equipped with frontal large air inlets in the nose, new front splitter and a bonnet with a strong bulge in the center, plus new air vents.
In some previous spy shots you can see how this test unit mounted red brake calipers on the front and blue on the rear axle. Fresh spy photos also mounted blue calipers, a hallmark of the previous version C6 ZR1, nicknamed "The Blue Devil". The new ZR1 body have both coupe and convertible .
This is without any doubt the most radical and most powerful Corvette history. The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 estimated a power between 700 and 750 horses , although it is still unclear what will be the engine that will encourage this beast.
Rumors say it could use a new version of LT4 supercharged V8 that can be found in the current Z06. On the other hand, it is rumored that this version could release a new block V8 with 4 camshafts and crankshaft Crossplane type. The designation for this new engine could be LT6 LT5 or. The name LT5 already been used for the Corvette ZR1 C4 sold in the nineties.
The presentation of this new enhanced 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 would be coming soon, more than likely in the next Detroit Motor Show to be held in January 2017, so we have less than two months to meet this beast.
