The C7 Corvette Z06 is the most powerful production car ever produced by General Motors. However, in 2030 it is projected to be devalued and anyone can buy it from its $79,450 price right now to an affordable $23,000. It is all current models have to face over the years while remaining in that limbo between a classic and a current vehicle. The Corvette Z06 will not escape this effect and in just over a decade, will be a car affordable enough for many drivers.
The Powerful C7 Corvette Z06
In the heart of the C7 Corvette Z06 is a completely new engine turbocharged 6.2 LT4 V8 that offers 650 hp and has a maximum torque of 881 Nm. With this package, this model is even faster than the Corvette ZR1, the fastest and most powerful Corvette so far, according to GMAAuthority. To achieve a balance between performance and efficiency, it also features technologies such as direct injection, Active Fuel or deactivation of some cylinders, among others.
These developments, combined with the new automatic transmission, a more aerodynamic design, and a lighter structure, help the C7 Corvette Z06 to be more efficient. The Z06 comes standard with a seven-speed manual gearbox, or with the completely new automatic eight-speed 8L90. Since Chevrolet claim that the latter is very fast and occupies the same space as the six-speed automatic transmission fitted to the Chevrolet Stingray .
As aerodynamic changes, the list of aesthetic changes are also many: the tires are wider (about 3.80 cm 5cm front and rear more) than stingray (rubber bands are almost competition), new front splitter, new rear spoiler, wider grille and side skirts made of carbon air intakes on the rear wing that is used to cool the brakes.
