The spy shots strike again as the brand new 2018 Subaru Tribeca was spotted having a drive along with the Ford Fortuner and Mazda CX-9 SUVs. The latest model was said to have similar exteriors as that of the Subaru Outback but has a sleeker design compared to its predecessor. The release of said model has also been revealed.

Although the Subaru Tribeca was deemed to have a unique engine for its class and an unusual exterior design upon its release by 2005, it, unfortunately, performed so poorly that its production was discontinued by 2014. Since then, the company had urged for a strategy to improve their sales in the US market and lodged a target of 600,000 units sold per year until 2020.
As reported by Auto Blog, despite the unit being phased out, a spy cam caught a glimpse of the newly improved 2018 Subaru Tribeca on a test drive with Ford Explorer along with the Mazda CX-9. It was seen to have similar features to the Subaru Outback and its predecessor.
The Specs: Exterior
The said 2018 Subaru Tribeca was found to be a three-row crossover model of the Ford Explorer and the Mazda CX-9. It has triangular headlights like its former make and model but has a sleeker design. Furthermore, it was found to have a grille similar to that of the Subaru Outback along with its large air intake capabilities that are also features of the Outback.
2018 Subaru Tribeca was also similarly sized compared to that of models Ford Explorer and the Mazda CX-9. It square taillights were inspired by the Forester model and the muffler of the spied vehicle hinted on a Subaru 3.6-cylinder Boxer engine.
The Specs: Interior
As reported by Truck's Lane, the brand new 2018 Subaru Tribeca will have a more luxurious interior look and would also be more conventional compared to its predecessor. Furthermore, it was revealed that the interior design is similar to the Impreza. Its capacity was also lodged as a seven-seater and would not have different wheelbases. However, there would be an available feature to remove the seats altogether.
The Specs: Engine
The brand new 2018 Subaru Tribeca may be powered by a 3.6-liter engine and improved powertrain. It is expected to yield a small 2-liter flat-four turbo engine that has low-end torque, a similar power output to that of the old 3.6-liter engine, and will have a better fuel efficient feature.
The production of the brand new 2018 Subaru Tribeca was said to debut by 2018.
