Spotted! The upcoming 2019 Chevrolet Corvette was seen going for a test drive in Michigan. The long-awaited sports car had been in talks of surfacing anytime soon as General Motors had announced that they have recovered from their bankruptcy.
What does the new model bring? Will it replace the C7 bodies? Better yet, will the new model be called a C8?

Lucky for Chevrolet fans, an eagle-eyed fan was able to capture the said 2019 Chevrolet Corvette, which was allegedly out for a spin in Michigan just this week. From the photos, it looks like there were major changes made to the make and model.
There had been rumors flying around that the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette had been planned to surface for years, but its development had been stalled since General Motors declared bankruptcy last 2009. However, since the company had been able to recover from its loss, the said production of the much-anticipated Chevrolet Corvette was resumed.
2019 Chevrolet Corvette is Radically New
According to Auto Week, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette looked substantially different from its usual design with an engine that was not by the front of the car. It had been rumored that the said car would stick to the original look but as it was caught on camera, there were some notable changes that were immediately noticeable.
The car was a rear-wheel-drive, it had a shorter nose, an elongated rear end, and seemed to be made of a lighter material than its predecessors. It did, however, have a similar feature to the C7, at least to the taillights.
2019 Chevrolet Corvette to Become America's Flagship Muscle Car Again?
In other news, Auto Blog reported that the upcoming model was Chevrolet's flagship in order for them to go against the heavyweight competition in the market: the Ford GT and other European sports cars.
Although there had been no confirmation as to what were specifically changed in the make or model, the report indicated that it may have updated its weight savings, use of carbon fiber, and aerodynamic upgrades, making the car competitive in the sports car market.
Furthermore, the model may also be powered by a twin-turbo V6. However, the report indicated that there would also be a possibility that the unit will stick to its traditional V8- engine.
The brand new Chevrolet Corvette was said to be expected to release come 2019. Although the Chevrolet C7 would still be five years old then, no confirmation had been revealed as to whether the upcoming model will co-exist with the C7 or that it may be called the C8 - a replacement of its predecessor.
