Personalized Minis, food trucks, and a number of live bands together with the hundreds of people coming from around the country have flocked to the place, pledging their loyalty to the brand.
This was the case with other cities just like Atlanta, Charlotte, Baltimore and Pittsburgh last week. 18 states will take part in this year's two-week road trip will cross over these states.
This will start with a driving event held at the Atlanta Motors Speedway on July 9. This will continue until July 23 for its closing ceremony that will be held in Palm Springs, California.
This cross-country road trip is still pushed through despite the slowdown in sales.
U.S. deliveries have plunged as it goes down by 17 percent this year. This is because more Americans prefer crossovers, SUVs, and other light trucks.
According to Patrick McKenna, the company is proud to witness the pride that the Mini users have. It can even be likened to Harley Davidson instead of comparing it to another automotive brand.
It will head north as it approaches its stop in St. Ignace in Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The vehicles will then head west to Green Bay before going to Minneapolis and Sioux Falls.
One of the spokesmen from Mini said that the mayor might possibly give out keys to a random driver.
The statement made the hype greater ever since its start in 2006. In 2012, there were 250 people who took part in the trip.
It then skyrocketed to 450 people by 2014. Now, it has risen to 900.
Overall, there will be 4,300 people taking part in this year's road trip. Unfortunately, many cannot experience the entire trek due to a variety of reasons.
