The brand-new 2015 Chrysler 200 had a big debut last week with over 10,000 vehicle orders placed the first day it was available, according to a Fiat Chrysler Automotive press release.
Over 17,000 orders were places in the first two days the vehicle was available.
The automaker has confirmed that its Sterling Heights Assembly Plant is at full production through mid-July for the vehicles as orders continue to "roll in."
"The Chrysler brand is thrilled to see the level of enthusiasm customers and dealers have shown to order the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200," said Al Gardner, President and CEO - Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, according to the release.
The Chrysler 200 is available for a base price of $22,695, including a $995 shipping fee.
Chrysler has equipped the vehicle with power mirrors, push-button start, cruise control, and 17-inch wheels.
The automaker updated its 200 sedan with stop-start technology to boost fuel economy and reduce emissions, according to Chrysler.
The vehicle is powered by a 184-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
"With a standard nine-speed automatic transmission, a choice of two powertrains with fuel economy ratings of up to 36 miles per gallon (mpg) highway, an available state-of-the art all-wheel drive system, and an interior that will wow drivers and passengers alike, the new Chrysler 200 is raising the bar for what customers should expect from a mid-size sedan," said Gardner.
The Chrysler 200 competes with similar vehicles like the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord, and the Toyota Camry.
