Volkswagen has announced that its redesigned 2015 Volkswagen Golf will reach dealerships this August, with a revised lineup that includes a two-door entry vehicle priced from $18,815 and the Golf TDI that will be sold for $22,815.

In comparison, the 2014 Golf 2.5L is available for a base price of $20,815.

All prices include an $820 shipping fee, according to VW.

Volkswagen's new 2015 Golf comes with an improved turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. Its predecessor came equipped with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine.

Consumers will be able to choose from five- and six-speed manual transmissions and a six-speed automatic, depending on the model.

VW is offering a new two-door Golf Launch Edition with manual transmission for $18,815, a new two-door Golf S with manual transmission for $19,815, and the four-door Golf S with automatic for $21,515.

The four-door Golf SEL, the most expensive gasoline-engine version, will be available for $27,815.

The automaker is marking the 2015 Golf TDI as a four-door only, in three trim levels.

The Golf TDI SEL will be sold for a base price of $28,815, according to VW.

VW will offer just 650 Golf Sport vehicles, which is based on the four-door Golf SE and has been priced from $27,750, according to the automaker.

Customers will have the option to get the company's new Forward Collision Warning system, which comes with Park Distance Control. The service has been priced at $695, and is available on 2015 Golf SE and SEL trim levels.

The automaker has also confirmed that a new Automatic Post-Collision System is standard on the 2015 Golf.

The VW Golf competes with similar vehicles like the Ford Focus, Kia Forte, and the Mazda 3, among other vehicles.
