Hyundai has confirmed its 2014 Hyundai Veloster recently earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Veloster earned five stars in the side crash test and four stars in front and rollover crash tests, according to the automaker.
Standard safety features found on Veloster includes antilock brakes, stability control, and six airbags to keep occupants safe.
Other standard features includes daytime running lights, driver's blind-spot mirror, and a rearview camera, according to Hyundai.
The features are available for all Veloster models.
The Veloster is the first sporty hatchback to be rated under NHTSA's tougher tests and five-star rating system, according to the automaker.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has yet to rate the Veloster.
Vehicles that compete with the Veloster includes the 2014 Honda CR-Z, Mini Cooper, and Volkswagen Beetle, along with many others.
