Chrysler's new 2014 SRT Viper will be painted in "Competition Blue" after 11,000 fans submitted entries to name the exterior color, said a Chrysler Group press release.

Fan Patryk Skarzynski of Chicago was the first to submit the winning color name in the "SRT Viper Color Contest." He won a trip to the 2014 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona at Daytona International Speedway to watch the race with members of the SRT Viper design team, said the press release.

"This contest demonstrates just how strong and vocal the SRT and Viper community is; to receive more than 11,000 entries was rewarding. This contest was created for our brand loyalists to make them a part of SRT history," said Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of street and racing technology brand and motorsports for Chrysler. "We're looking forward to seeing Competition Blue drape the skin of the 2014 SRT Viper."

Three finalists were chosen from the contest, which launched in October. The public then voted online to choose their favorite name.

An SRT Viper GTS in the Mopar display area of the recent SEMA show featured the new color. The model is also accessorized with a Mopar carbon fiber X-brace in the engine compartment for strength and structure as well as a silver Stryker logo on the X-brace.

A fifth-generation supercar, the SRT Viper features an 8.4-liter engine producing 640 horsepower and 600 pounds of torque, according to the press release.

The new model has been updated inside and out with premium interior materials and options including a leather-wrapped interior. Safety technology includes electronic multistage stability control, traction control and a new 4-channel anti-lock brake system.

The SRT Viper is the flagship car for the 2014 SRT lineup, which also includes the Chrysler 300 SRT, Dodge Challenger SRT 392, Dodge Charger SRT and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
