2015 Hyundai Genesis Caught in Action Before 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show Debut (PHOTOS)

Photographers snapped early glimpses of the next-generation Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan, which won't be officially unveiled until next week's Los Angeles Auto Show, Edmunds.com reported.

Photos of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis can be seen here. Spy photographers caught an undisguised version of the car, which had badging that indicated a 3.8-liter V6 engine option.

The 2015 Genesis showcased expansive grille openings.

"The car's flanks are notable for a deep scallop in the front fenders and a pronounced body side character line running from the headlight through an inset at the rear bumper," Edmunds described.

The new model, which Hyundai has confirmed to feature all-wheel drive, appeared to be longer than the current-generation sedan with a lower roof line.

"Now that the Equus is here to serve as the large luxury flagship, it appears Hyundai intends for the Genesis to assume a sportier focus," Edmunds said.

The updated sedan Hyundai Genesis has front-end styling that's a complete departure from previous designs, Autoblog.com reported when Hyundai released renderings of the new car last month. Otherwise, nearly everything else is carried over from the HCD-14 Genesis Concept seen earlier this year, the outlet reported.

The LA Auto Show will be held Nov. 22 to Dec. 1 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It will showcase more than 20 world debuts from BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda and more. Major luxury, performance, green tech and concept announcements will also be made, according to a show press release.

"As one of the world's largest media hubs and car buying markets, Los Angeles offers a unique combination of press exposure and valuable consumer contact," Lisa Kaz, LA Auto Show president said. "The LA Auto Show's consistent growth and commitment to remaining on the forefront of automotive technology, green innovation and automotive design will certainly be noticed with 2013's roster of major debuts."
