Justin Bieber has released "Recovery" as the latest entry in his "Music Mondays" series leading up to a new album.

The moody R&B track is a mea culpa to an old flame, MTV describes.

"First, I'll acknowledge/ All trust has been broken/ A successful recovery/ I pray for us at night," Bieber sings. "Grant me with a second chance/ Never thought I'd see your face again/ Learning life through trial and error/ Just trying to make it right."

Bieber sounded off on Twitter to tell fans why this song is special to him.

"It's here. One of the most important songs to me I've ever written #Recovery," the 19-year-old pop star tweeted. "Hope it helps you!"

Manager Scooter Braun and plenty of fans responded on Twitter with praise for the new track.

"Recovery" is the fourth song Bieber has released during his Music Mondays series; the previous tracks include "Heartbreaker," "Hold Tight" and "All That Matters."

At least some of the emotional lyrics on Bieber's new songs, which lead up to his new record in December, are rumored to be about his two-year relationship with actress and singer Selena Gomez.

The on and off again Bieber-Gomez relationship was a popular tabloid topic before and after the couple went public in February 2011, and fans are still buzzing about their breakup this past December.

Gomez recently released her fourth record, "Stars Dance," featuring songs that are purportedly about Bieber. She cried onstage while singing "Love Will Remember" at a Brooklyn show earlier this month.

Braun recently spoke to Billboard to explain the idea behind Music Mondays, telling the outlet why these new songs are different than Bieber's earlier fare.

"Justin had this complete body of work that was very different from the stuff he had done in the past," Braun said. "[It's] very R&B-driven, personal songs, not necessarily songs that he was thinking of as radio records. That's why he called them 'journals.'

"If you listen to the lyrics in these songs ... he's pouring his heart out."
