Tesla is one of the most sought-after brands in many ways. It has also gained popularity because of its latest automotive technology implementation in all of its cars. However, Hyundai Genesis may be Korea's representative to compete with Tesla. Is it even possible to come neck-and-neck with the auto giant?
Hyundai Motor Group's plan is to create a wide variety of green vehicles and extend to its emerging Genesis luxury brand. It is planned to receive a plug-in hybrid in the next four years. This plan should be able to keep itself abreast with Tesla.
It is reported that the plug-in hybrid is going to be introduced to the 2019 line-up and the EV to follow in 2021 according to Manfred Fitzgerald, Hyundai's global brand chief at the 2017 Seoul Motor Show. This coming Sept., Hyundai will add G70 sport sedan which may be out by 2020. The G70 will complete the line-up headlined by G90 and G80.
The plug-in will be based on existing Genesis nameplate beyond the six promised according to Fitzgerald. The second EV, however, could be based on a separate platform. Two EV architectures are being considered one being designed for the small to medium sized vehicles and another for the larger ones.
Spotted a Hyundai Genesis on Bangalore roads now. It wasn't a test mule. A registered RH Drive car! They planning to bring it? @sidpatankar

Generally, the goal is for Genesis to up to ante in terms of hybrid systems as it offers better electric-only driving range. This is highly favored for being efficient in all aspects, with performance developed to be more capable and will not be compromised.
The Hyundai Genesis is easily the best produced by Hyundai Motors Inc. It has consistently received encouraging reviews and feedback from industry experts. The 2016 Hyundai Genesis has been described for going big on value, power, advanced technology, and beefed up safety features. Though it is the most upscale of all Hyundai cars, it still is priced reasonable compared to its competitors.
The Hyundai Genesis may legitimately be Korea's answer to Tesla. Though nothing can ever come close to the original, other alternatives may be impressive options as well. This is where the Genesis comes to play.
