Another 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS has been spotted. The prototype was spotted testing earlier today.
This news had Porsche fans excited for the nearing of the 911 GT2 RS' release. As fans know, the company has been testing the upcoming vehicle since last summer.
Unfortunately, the car was only allowed outside in test mule form... until now. The GT2 RS Prototype boasts some new features that surely screams adrenaline.
Based on the spy photos, the new prototype is now only mildly camouflage. The rest of the car is clearly visible now
The new 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS prototype is equipped with an update bumper. Fans can also now see the hood vents which were not visible at all before.
According to reports, these are the same vents found on the 2018 GT3 RS. Switching to the rear of the car, fans can clearly see features such as the production-ready lights.
The massive exhaust pipes steal the spotlight as well. The GT2 RS also has a new rear bumper and diffuser but those are still camouflaged to keep the mystery alive.
Under the hood, it was reported that the GT2 RS will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine. This engine produces up to 650 horsepower on the road.
With this beast of an engine, the GT2 RS will be the fastest model in the current 911 range. As for the gearbox, Porsche executive Oliver Blume already confirmed a dual clutch PDK gearbox for the vehicle.
The dual clutch PDK gearbox doing all the heavy lifting for the GT2 RS comes as an unfortunate news to some buyers. According to Blume, the company opted for this gearbox to maximize the car's performance.
For those who still wants to get a manual transmission, however, can go for the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The GT3 will be available with both options.
As for the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS release date, it is expected to be later in the year or early in 2018. It will rival the Lamborghini Huracan Performante and the McLaren 700.
