The Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe are two of the best crossovers in the market and it is easy to understand why. Both have consistently delivered well and are welcomed by industry experts for having favorable reviews. However, for every competition, one has to emerge as better than the other. In this case, which crossover will it be it?
According to Top Gear, one of the factors to be in major consideration is the interior. It does play a major role in making both the driver and passengers feel special. Since both are premium crossovers, its interior shroud everyone in pure luxury and lushness. The Range Rover Evoque is modern and plush inside by using decent quality materials. On the other hand, Mercedes-Benz GLC Couple is extremely car-like in a good for its quality materials and extensive driver aids as part of the options list.

In terms of power and capacity, the Mercedes-Benz comes in packed with more of it compared to the Range Rover Evoque. Evoque's Ingenium is considered no match to the GLC's in-house nine-speed. Evoque is capable of producing 189-bhp as compared to GLC being more powerful at 240-bhp. The Evoque's platform is considerably older which makes for a slightly shaky ride but it performs well in off-roading because of a good deal of electronics. GLC's platform is the new C-Class which gives ultimate strength and sharper steering.
The all important fuel economy is definitely something to think about and consider. The Range Rover Evoque returns an EPA 20-21 mpg in the city and 28-29 mpg highway. Also according to US News and World Report, it does have an overall rating of 8 points out of a possible 10. It did well for both Critic's Rating and Performance both having a score of 8.2 points. The base Evoque retails at $41,800.
On the other hand, according to Car and Driver, the estimated base price of Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is at $44,000. It does have 21/28 mpg for city/highway. Looking at this, both the Evoque and GLC Coupe return the same fuel efficiency rating which is satisfactory for crossovers. Other crossovers may return favorable results but this should be fine. The GLC Coupe is also more expensive by few thousands compared to Evoque, but does price really matter for a luxury car enthusiast?
For some industry experts, Range Rover Evoque is reviewed to be slower and heavier SUV model. The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, on the other hand, is not so favored because of its compromised visibility and its interior is somehow cramped. For an enthusiast, the information given may be taken differently. While some would be thrown off because of issues concerning handling, others will greatly be affected because of its cramped space inside.
With the given information on the two, seems that the fight is really close that determining the ultimate winner may come in as a great challenge. Since both Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe offer a good deal of advantages and misgivings, determining which is better is a daunting task. For the sake of competition, the GLC Coupe is the winner for its power, however, for a more affordable base price, it is Evoque's turn.
