Audi extends its Q family with a new compact SUV. The 2017 Audi Q2 is an urban-type vehicle designed for everyday driving and recreation, bundling a progressive design with a high level of functionality.

The 2017 model is smaller than the Q3, it features an exterior design that stands out while still being recognizable as an Audi. The car rides on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform, which is also used with other vehicles including the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf.

The key features of the new 2017 Audi Q2 include a low roof that merges with the C-pillar, which can be optioned with various offset color blades. Up front, its single-frame grille highlights an octagonal design, cube-shaped lower air intakes, and angled headlight clusters. At the rear, the 2017 model has a cubed LED taillights and a black lower diffuser that comes with two exhaust pipes clustered together on one side.

The automaker also has loaded the 2017 model with a lot of new technologies, including a standard forward automatic emergency braking feature. Other active safety features include adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, traffic jam assist, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and parking and rear cross-traffic alert.

The car will receive a selection of diesel and gas powertrains that have an 116 hp in the 1.0-liter TFSI powertrain to 190 hp in the brand new 2.0-liter turbo-four-cylinder engine. A six-speed manual is available in Europe, but the U.S. will likely get a new seven-speed dual clutch automatic only.

On the inside, the 2017 model features a low seating position like in a sedan and convenience features like a three-way split-folding second-row bench seat. Also offered is an extensive level of customizability in the vehicle, including vibrant interior colors and upholsteries and a LED lighting package to illuminate the inside in a choice of 10 different colors.

The base price of the 2017 Audi Q2 is at 22,900 euros for the 1.0 TFSI and 25,850 euros for the 1.6 TDI. The 1.4 TFSI COD is priced at 24,900 euros.
