"BritBox" had been trending in Europe for months, and BBC and ITV have finally made it available for paid streaming in the U.S. Although the companies had already announced that they would fulfill this move soon, it was only recently that the $6.99/month subscription streaming service was approved. What shows can fans enjoy in America now?
First of all, "BritBox" can be purchased through iOS, Android, and Apple TV for $6.99/month. The subscription streaming service would allow users to watch shows like "The Great British Bake Off," "Doctor Who," "Miss Marple," 'Sherlock Holmes," and "Top Gear," the most-watched shows in Europe, for the compensated price, reported Engadget. Other shows include "Emmerdale," "Holby City," "Gavin City," "EastEnders," "Sharpe," "Absolutely Fabulous," "Blackadder," and "Causality." In fact, most of the popular series shown in BBC America would also show with the purchased "BritBox" streaming services.
According to the brand's team, they will be offering thousands of hours to its users. However, it would be a great challenge for them to providing high-quality shows and maneuverability for its users. If the users decide to filter their shows, unfortunately, others would feel that the monthly subscription would not be worth the cost.
In other news, Reuters reported that other than offering British soap operas and televisions series, the streaming services labeled as a cheaper alternative than its competitions in the market. Netflix and Hulu require users to pay a larger fee of $7.99/month to avail of the same services offered by "BritBox." On top of which, the service referred to as a tough contender against the popular Amazon Prime Video, the current product in the U.S. market to date.
The "BritBox" streaming services will be open for users in the U.S. who love to watch British soap operas and television series. Will its features beat the reigning Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix video streaming services now that it requires a lesser price for the same offerings?
