For the past few days, there have been a lot of news spreading regarding the "leaked Tesla Model 3 pricing and options." It is clear that these reports are fake, and are merely rumors.
To make it clear, the "leaked Tesla Model 3 pricing and options" are not real. Nothing has been leaked yet.
Every detail fans need to know about the Tesla Model 3 is listed on Tesla's official website. The leaks started from a French Tesla fan-made site called "Tesla-Mag'.
The site published a chart of the Tesla Model 3 pricing with different options and battery pack. The post can be seen below.
The site published the post without disclosing the source of the chart. The author claimed every detail listed are "their information." And the publication falsely led people to believe that it could be a "controlled leak" by Tesla.
This statement is most likely what sparked the hype all over the chart. It then spread and has been reprinted on social media and Tesla forums.
According to reports, the chart is just an attempt to speculate on the possible options for the Tesla Model 3 pricing. It was created by a Tesla Motors Club forum member over two months ago.
To be fair, the forum member did make it clear that it was purely based on speculation. This is why it is still unclear why the said website who published the chart called it a possible "leak."
Tesla-Mag has updated its article and confirmed that they do know the source of the chart is a TMC user. However, they did not make it clear that it was just a speculation.
This does not necessarily mean that the information will not turn out to be true. But it is still wrong to lead people to believe something is real when it isn't.
The best information regarding the Tesla Model 3 is what's written on the official website. It says:
"Model 3 combines real world range, performance, safety and spaciousness into a premium sedan that only Tesla can build. Our most affordable car yet, Model 3 achieves 215 miles of range per charge while starting at only $35,000 before incentives. Model 3 is designed to attain the highest safety ratings in every category."
The Tesla Model 3 will start production in July 2017. Stay tuned on Auto World News for more updates.
