Two of the best drones in the industry, siblings DJI Phantom 4 Pro and DJI Mavic Pro are known to be two of the best drones in the market today. Industry experts find it difficult to weigh in their thoughts as to which reigns supreme, but at end of the day, one has to be chosen.
Drones are definitely the best thing to have for professional-looking video and image capturing for 2017. Capturing those important moments are now possible in all angles because of the drones.
Since drones are created for imaging and video capturing, its camera is the most important element. According to Resource Mag Online, the DJI Phantom 4 Pro comes with a spectacular and more powerful camera.
Retailing at $1,499, it belongs to the steeper side of the price spectrum. However, this should not be an issue for professional photographers and videographers as it is considered a good investment providing crisper images.
The DJI Phantom 4 Pro is considered an improvement compared to other drones as it comes fully equipped with more sensors and an even better video camera with 4K 60fps vs. 30fps. When compared to the Mavic Pro, the battery life lasts three minutes longer. However, Phantom 4 Pro is faster at 72kph.

DJI Mavic Pro, on the other hand, offers the best value for money. It is also considered much easier to fly compared with the Phantom 4 Pro. It is also considered easier to carry around for being compact. Sure, in terms of features and specifications, the Phantom 4 Pro easily wins the battle. BUT...
As added by My First Drone, in connection with the compactness of Mavic Pro, many ask if it can hold up against strong winds when in flight. Well, the answer is it can, and it does good. Mavic Pro is as good as the heavier Phantom 4 Pro. At one point upon testing, Mavic Pro even is considered more stable than the Phantom 4 Pro as it tends to drift up when faced with high winds.
In terms of video quality, Mavic Pro performs adequately under low light conditions, however, Phantom 4 Pro steals the show. Mavic Pro also doesn't reveal its propeller when trying to shoot up and it tends to show up less in forward flight.
Both DJI Phantom 4 Pro and DJI Mavic Pro have obstacle avoidance functionality. However, Mavic Pro has a little bit more to offer. It can identify rocks, railings, and other obstacles when landing. Phantom 4 Pro's cameras in the back and infrared sensors on its sides give it 360-degree obstacle detection. It can fly backward, forward, and even sideways. That makes it belong to a league of its own.
The sibling rivalry between DJI Phantom 4 Pro and DJI Mavic Pro has been long standing as both have been giving enthusiasts the best time of their lives in capturing moments through video and photos. However, one has to emerge as the winner in any battle. Both are indeed excellent drones but Mavic Pro is the winner by an extremely little margin for it being more compact and more affordable. The Mavic Pro is a good drone to have especially for those who are just getting started with photography and videography with the use of drones.
