Lenovo's brand new Yoga 720 is the new breed of mainstream laptops that honors PC gaming, e-sports, and Twitch streaming. Gamers who don't want an official gaming laptop may still consider some extra GPU power, and the Lenovo Yoga 720 can bring it with optional, discrete Nvidia GTX1050 graphics.
This year, the company has revealed their 2-in-1 gaming laptop at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where they also launched the low-end Miix 320. The laptop is a 15.6-inch version of the company's iconic convertible laptop.
Lenovo announced Monday that shipping starts in April, and offering a strong selection of features for its size. CPU choices go up to Intel's latest 7th-generation Kaby Lake processor and 16GB of DDR4 RAM.
A 4K display and dedicated graphics make the laptop one of the first viable 2-in-1 gaming laptops, as revealed by what the GTX 1050 Ti could do inside Dell's machine. Rounding out the laptop is a built-in fingerprint reader for easy Windows Hello login via Windows 10, JBL speakers with Dolby Audio Premium software and Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports. Lenovo claims that it can last 9 hours in FHD and 8 hours in UHD.
The laptop will come in 13 inches and 15 inches models. The 15 inches model can be configured with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU, and both can have up to 16GB of RAM. The 13 inches model will get a 1 TB PCle SSD, while the other model can be configured with a 1TB HDD or a 512GB PCle SSD.
The new Lenovo Yoga 720 also offers the enjoyment of using the laptop is three different modes which are clamshell, tent, or view modes by just rotating its two halves around the 360-degree hinge. It also comes in several colors, like, white, silver, gray, copper and platinum and has an optional stylus support with an active pen. It arrives in April with a starting price of $1,100.
