More than 5 years have passed since Cars the movie has graced the big screen. In its upcoming return on June 16th, creators once again teased fans with the latest and extended trailer of the film. This time, a feisty and determined Lightning McQueen is seen.

It is evident that Cars 3 is tapping into a more mature story for Lightning Mcqueen on his road to victory after a fatal accident. Today, Disney Pixar revealed the latest trailer for Cars 3 premiering at Daytona 500 which focuses on the next generation cars that will form the cast. According to Car Buzz, the cast for Cars 3 revealed strong hints to the current rise of hybrid hypercars today.

Mcqueen has found his match with the introduction of Jackson Storm, a hi-tech car that represents the technological developments in the auto industry as a whole. Jackson Storm exhibits a superior speed and downforce compared to Lightning McQueen. Apparently, McQueen is not yet ready to retire, thus, he will bounce back and race the Piston Cup once again with the help of his old crew.

One more thing that excites everyone for the Cars 3 movie is the number of stars from the racing series taking roles for the movie. Since Cars 3 is heavily influenced by NASCAR, current drivers such as Chase Elliot, Ryan Blaney, Daniel Suarez, and Bubba Wallace will be voices for Cars 3. Also, retired veterans such as Jeff Gordon, and Richard Petty are also part of the great cast.

Brian Fee, Cars 3 Director, discussed his sentiments with the movie's partnership with NASCAR. He said, "Our story leans into the drama, emotion, and excitement NASCAR fans find at every race." Cars 3 will hit theaters on June 16th.
