DDoS or Distributed Denial of Service is an example of a DOS attack in which multiple compromised systems mostly infected by Trojan are used to target a single system causing a Denial of Service Attack. Today, reports claim that Ubisoft, developer of massive games such as For Honor, Steep, Rainbow Six Siege, and Ghost Recon Wildlands is suspected to be under DDOS attack after seeing their servers down.
In a report by thisgengaming.com, Ubisoft is currently facing a major issue which at first seen with the For Honor's servers. After checking other Ubisoft games, it was proven to be the same problem with other titles, thus, a widespread phenomenon. Apparently, Ubisoft is testing on the issue and have not confirmed whether the said issue is indeed a DDOS attack.
The developer tries to understand the issue by tweeting, "We're aware of an issue accessing some of our online services, and we are investigating. Thank you for your patience!" Up until now, the said issue is still unresolved. AWN will look into this matter and will provide updates once Ubisoft has provided their response.
In other news, Ubisoft gives out it's warning for players who uses custom-made programs to get a headstart in For Honor. Apparently, the developer seen banning over 400 players caught cheating. Devs stressed out that developer's made cheat codes are acceptable, but using custom-made programs is unfair and uncivilized. Since the primary goal of the company if offer fair and equal gameplay to all players, they are now using a program called EasyAntiCheat to scan cheat-source activities.
Ubisoft advice players to read and understand the Code of Contact to avoid engaging in such illegal activities. Also, emblems, harassment, and misconducts are also offensive and could cause banning of account. Devs said banning could happen on first offense depending on the gravity of the case.
