This year's Detroit Auto Show, the all-new Audi Q8 concept made its debut. The car is a slimmer version of the upcoming coupe-like crossover that is set to take on the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe and the BMW X6. Spy photographers snapped a few photos that revealed how the 2020 Audi Q8 looks.
The all-new 2020 Audi Q8 model is the latest range-topping SUV that Audi will introduce in late 2018. It will hit the United States early the following year as a 2020 model.
The spy photos showed that the new model has the same size with the Q7. In addition, all majority traits from the concept are seen on the production model, such as the massive oversized grille and the aggressive roofline. The car's entire front end appears to carry over from the Q8 concept.
Stainless steel accents on the air intakes are not present, and for the headlights, though they have the same shape, look more classic compared to those on the concept. Small cutouts on its grille and hood likely are gone too.
For its powertrain, it is anticipated to have a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that produces 354 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. It will also be matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive. There will also be an e-tron plug-in hybrid model, which appears to have also a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 equipped with an electric motor that produces 442 hp and 516-lb-ft.
It appears that the changes between the concept and the production model are very obvious. The car's bumper mounted exhaust pipes are dropped on this new version. Upright vents on the outside tail lights appeared to have also been dropped.
Furthermore, strong offerings should have the SQ8 and the RS Q8, a concept which is said to be released soon. The previous will possibly come in diesel, though not in the United States Recall, Audi already has the SQ7 that's powered by an electric compressor-equipped twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 diesel that produces 429 hp and a 663 lb-ft.
However, no further details yet were revealed on the 2020 Audi Q8 release date. But expect to see more of the Q8 concept on an upcoming Auto Shows in U.S.
