The 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has been put on hold for more reasons than one. This has certainly caused some major disappointments to those who are highly anticipating its much-anticipated arrival. Jeep has done a marvelous job in coming up with vehicles of the same kind, so it is rather mind-boggling why the Grand Wagoneer has been put to halt.
According to Road and Track, Fiat-Chrysler has been open about reviving the Jeep Grand Wagoneer name. Back in July, Mike Manley, the Brand Chief, expressed interest in once again giving life to Jeep Grand Cherokee which was last used back in 1991. In Sept. of last year, he dropped hints saying that the 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer may be launched having $140,000 price tag for a fully-loaded model. This definitely brought excitement to fans of luxury SUVs.
However, recent news revealed that the 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has been put on hold. The reason may put leave everyone's mouths open for disbelief. FCA is actually has decided to make a big push in producing more SUVs. Yes, there could be a disconnect there.

The 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is intended to be based on a platform of the upcoming Grand Cherokee which has been part of FCA's plans for Jeep since 2014. However, FCA is caught in the middle of the North American production revamp to deal with $7 million in net debt.
Also, the main problem is the platforms. It is one of the contributing factor for the alleged delay of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The Wagoneer is initially planned for production at FCA's Warren assembly plant. It is a body-on-frame facility which requires complete retooling. The company is already in so much financial strain for improving its Toledo and Sterling Heights plants to switch from unibody to body-on-frame production.
As added by Auto Week, the 2019 Jeep Grand Wagoneer may have been put on hold. For any company, it is obvious to choose the easier and cheaper to produce. FCA is no different as that is their ultimate direction, at least for now. For those who are expecting for the latest Grand Wagoneer's official release, there is no official news regarding it. Currently, the production is still on hold until further notice.
