Nintendo has announced that it will be launching its very first Super Bowl ad this year. The ad will be aired during a Super Bowl LI's fourth quarter on February 5, 2017. The commercial will show off the new Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, one of the company's most famous launch games.
The ad that will appear during Super Bowl LI and will be 30 seconds long, however, both the 90-second and 30-second extended cut have been already released online. In addition, the company already announced that it will be releasing the device on March 3.
The new Nintendo Switch is a home console with the mobility of a hand-held video game system. People also have the option to play it on their TV's at home, then just grab the device and continue playing wherever they go.
Aside from the device, the ad will also feature The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is reported to the next defining moment in the classic franchise. The game offers the immersive world that the company has ever made and sends players on an epic adventure that they will never forget.
Nicholas Chavez, the company's Vice President of Marketing in the US said, "The most anticipated video game system and video game of the year will be seen on the biggest stage of the year. Nintendo Switch will change how, when and where people play games. It's only fitting that we're changing how, when and where we advertise those games."
The ad's soundtrack is titled "Believer" by Imagine Dragons, which is now offered on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon mp3, Google Play and Spotify. This is also not the first time that the Japanese company and Image Dragon collaborated. In fact, band members are die-hard fans of the Video Game Company and The Legend of Zelda franchise.
Extended cut of the ad showcases the system in different locations where home video games typically are not played, from a classroom to a kitchen or to a Laundromat. The ad also shows several upcoming single and multiplayer games for the system.
