Toyota is determined to produce the best of vehicles available in the market, in all conceivable segments. The top Japanese car manufacturer has certainly captured the sedan segment for its Camry and Corolla, however, this may not be the case for pickup trucks. The 2017 Toyota Tundra, based on reports have not been doing well compared to its competitors.

The 2017 Toyota Tundra had a considerable amount of improvements under its belt for both interior and exterior, however, it is still not enough to rub elbows with its newer competition. This easily can be one of Toyota's disappointment to date.

The site Consumer Reports agrees with this observation. According to the site, the Tundra did have exterior and interior updates, including improved controls, but it has been outclassed by more refined vehicles belonging to the same category.

In every bad, there's good so to speak because the Tundra has a very powerful 5.7-liter V-8 and a 4.6-liter V-8. The six-speed automatic also is known to be highly responsive and very smooth. These are some of the factors that buyers may still consider to choose this pickup over its competitors.

Buyers will also be pleased because the 2017 Toyota Tundra boasts of very spacious and roomy cabin. For those who prefer power and comfort, then this should make this vehicle on top of their list.

Handling is also secure, however, the ride with TRD package proved to be too stiff. This area can definitely have more improvement to make this pickup a complete package and earn the seal of approval of car enthusiasts and critics.

As added by US News and World Report, the 2017 Toyota Tundra impresses because of its solid-off road capabilities, spacious rare seats as earlier reported, and intuitive infotainment system. Unfortunately, it doesn't have V-6 or diesel engine options for those into economy and practicality, it is also not too fuel efficient compared to its competitors, and it does make for a bumpy ride.

At the end of the day, buyers will decide on which vehicle to purchase. Customers nowadays are highly informed and knowledgeable. The 2017 Toyota Tundra may not be the first choice by many, but it still is a good choice. Yes, there are better options, however, the new Tundra isn't at all that disappointing in the first place.
