If you are an Xbox and PS4 fan, this is a fairly big deal. The release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is about to bring something that has never been seen - apparent visual parity since it will run at a 1080p and 60 FPS for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Since its release sometime in late 2013, the Xbox One has underperformed the PS4 graphically. This means that the Xbox One versions of games almost always run at lower resolutions more often, as compared to the same game on PS4 and at lower frame rates in many cases as well.
According to Gamingbolt, in an interview with Masachika Kawata, the producer of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, he confirmed the visual upgrade. He also confirmed that the game will be supporting HDR on Xbox One S, PS4, and PS4 Pro. Kawata also shared his thought on the new iterative consoles, emphasizing that, as with any new bit of hardware in the industry, the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One Scorpio will need to see acceptance and enthusiasm from multiple platforms if they are to be successful.
He said that when it comes to new hardware, he thinks that the biggest takeaway is just to make sure that it is not just one party that is excited about the product but has to be a mutual interest on the manufacturer's side, publisher's side, and consumer side. And when everyone is onboard and everyone is excited for the product, it will allow the opportunity to expand the game industry and the user base. Otherwise, it is just a lot of extra effort on their side, he added.
According to Thurrott, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will arrive on Jan. 24, 2017. Like a lot of games these days, standard version shipping price is $60 and a higher-end deluxe version, which includes an access to future downloadable content (DLC), is pegged at $80.
