"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is nearing its release and the six-film series is expected to hit the $1 Billion gross mark when it hits the theater in January. With its success, director Paul Anderson is now planning its next move which may be another game-to-movie release and will work on "Monster Hunter" video game. The British will reportedly maintain its alliance with Capcom developer and as first expressed in 2012, will take video game "Monster Hunter" to the big screen.
In a conversation with Deadline, Director Anderson and his Impact Pictures producing partner Jeremy Bolt confirm that the duo is in the midst of talks to develop a film inspired by the legendary RPG from Capcom which is "Monster Hunter".
It follows the adventures of a hunter who is dedicated to pursue and annihilate all kinds of supernatural creatures by order of a village elder. Sequels, spin-offs, animated films - there is a lot of material from which to shoot. But how will it be and how it can have the same intensity as the "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" and all films in the Resident Evil Saga is still unknown.
"What I love about Monster Hunter is the amazing and beautiful world they have created. It is the level of Star Wars in terms of creativity. There are no central characters. It's like when we got to 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' and we imposed our characters and history. I think it's the perfect franchise to do the same" said Anderson.
