The 2018 Lexus LS has been spied again and this time it's looking like it's on the final configuration. The outdated fourth-generation model currently on sale was introduced as far back as the 2007 model year and this new Lexus LS will debut early next year to compensate to that. Looking at the spy photos, one can see new opticals as well as might be sensors hinting on a new and improved semi-autonomous system.
2018 Lexus LS Spied
The 2018 Lexus LS has been spied a couple of times but this time, even if it is still camouflaged, one can find many details and it is known that the LS is now in its final configuration. In this case, the LS 2018 continues to have the same shape and proportions to the incumbent model but with a slightly wider track, but discovered a new optical very well concealed.
One can also see horizontal type headlights after a transparent shell, which lets us peek the interior layout of its elements. While in the rear, several red spots that invite us to think that they try to look out type LED elements , although the camouflage does not allow us to glimpse the ways of optics itself, as happens on the front.
The massive front grille is not covered by anything except for some tape on the Lexus badge and the bumpers exposed a few areas which are believed by the guys at Auto Evolution to be sensors. Instead of just parking sensors, the open areas on the bumpers of the 2018 Lexus LS could hold elements that might be employed for semi-autonomous driving features.
2018 Lexus LS Release Date
The presentation of this new model should already be in early 2017 and the earliest date could be at the Detroit Motor Show to be held in January 2017, or as early as spring at the Geneva Auto Show in Europe or the New York Auto Show in North America.
As with the previous rules hunted, this new generation seems to draw inspiration from the Lexus LF-LC Concept showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Although the biggest news will find them on the technical side, with the addition of a driven version hydrogen fuel cell, an evolution of the same system already used Toyota in Mirai. This version will be accompanied by a traditional hybrid version and a range of petrol engines. Motor Authority also reported that there will be a high-performance LS F complete with a twin-turbocharged version of the Lexus 5.0-liter V-8 good for 600 hp.decade.
The new policy Toyota on propulsion systems, not yet confirmed by the brand, suggests that sooner or later one could find a fully electric version in the Lexus range. Although this scenario has a very distant horizon yet, so it would be unlikely to find in this new model a variant of this type, at least in its first life cycle.
