Supercars Australia recently announced a brand new installment for the Supercars 2017 season. The category will be called the Super Utes series wherein the V8 sports cars would have a more technical platform based on turbo diesel dual cab options for the SUVs.
Next Year's Series
For next year, Supercars Australia has announced that all carmakers may enter a new category named the SuperUtes V8 franchise. This would be the key support class that will showcase high-profile Supercars 2017 contenders. In fact, it was deemed to be a relevant development to make the races fairer and square for all overly-developed vehicles.
During an interview, Matt Braid, the Supercars Managing Director, hinted on the entertaining elements that would be featured for the upcoming Supercars 2017 event which has been deemed to be the crowd favorite vehicles, according to Motor Sport.
The SuperUtes category would comprise of turbo diesel dual cab Utes that are presently available for purchase in the Australian market. New manufacturers were said to retain their own developments to the race as well.
The prevailing V8 Utes series for the Supercars 2017 events would also retain its form like other installments following 2001. However, the newly established category was said to be bound by a Category Management Agreement which will effectuate by the start of this season and after the CMA holders Australian V8 Ute Racing Pty Ltd would take over.
What Makes Supercars Amazing?
In other news, it was revealed why supercars had been a fan favorite. First, it was deemed to be unique due to its doors that open up instead of sideways which added character to the vehicles. On top of which, the supercars also have a "frunk" feature which is found installed into the 2017 McLaren 570GT. The said feature was said to improve the storage of the vehicle, according to Tech Crunch.
On top of which, supercars also ride low which would make it run faster than other models in the industry. They are also installed with sound systems that improve driver experience.
