After several spy photos, both in Spain and Germany, the most potent member of the new Audi A5 Coupe family, the RS5, has been spotted again and this time, it was filmed by spy videos testing on the Nurburgring tracks. The 2018 Audi RS5 sounds brutal, looks brutal and moves at an impressive manner. Checkout the new RS5 set to arrived on 2018 below.
The Completion Of The A5 Family
The new generation of Audi A5 will be completed soon with a particularly sporty version: the 2018 Audi RS5. From the looks of it, everything is going great as the RS5 did a really showed great performance at the Nurburgring tacks.
The new Audi RS5 is still covered with camouflage, but you can already see a very similar aesthetic to which showed the latest prototype of the Audi S5 2017 that surprised spy photographers. However, a more in-depth look reveals significant details that indicate that this is not a model S, but is actually a whole RS because of its fins as well as its bulkier size.
It is clear, therefore, that the 2017 Audi RS5 will sport a more muscular image than their predecessor, with sportier bumpers, elegant steps, more pronounced wheel arches, large alloy wheels and interesting rear. And unlike what is caught in the video, the prototype will have two large oval exhaust outlets.
Powerful Engine
As for the engine, everything points to mount a 3-liter twin-turbo V6 (an enhancement given the new version Audi S4 is capable of producing only around 500 hp power). In the Audi RS5 2017, the previous atmospheric block 4.2-liter V8 and 450 hp but the new one will have over 500hp and also with lower fuel consumption and faster throttle response.
Thus, the new RS5 engine turbocharging will inaugurate the electrical production of Audi. It will be combined with traction quattro and an improved automatic transmission S-tronic dual-clutch system. With this, the new coupe will go up against the likes of BMW M4 Coupe, Mercedes-AMG C63 and Cadillac ATS-V Coupe.
Spy Video Excites
It is still early to know when will the Audi RS5 hit the market but it is believed that the model could make its first public appearance early next year, perhaps at the Detroit Motor Show 2017 to be held in January or during the Hall of Geneva 2017, to be held in March. Either of these events would be valid for presentation. Check out the video below to see how powerful the new Audi RS5 can be.
