Unlike the Audi RS3 hatchback which snubbed the U.S. market and was sold only in Europe, the 2017 Audi RS3 sedan is looking hot and ready for its American debut. The RS3 sedan debuted at the Paris Motor Show yesterday with its beastly 400hp performance, making it the most powerful production five-cylinder in the world.
Beastly Performance
The new Audi RS3 Sedan 2017 is as beastly as its acronym promises. It is powered by a 2.5-liter TFSI block five-cylinder engine that is able to output 400hp, which is 33 hp more than its predecessor, making it the most powerful five-cylinder engine in the world. 480nm of torque is also transmitted to all four wheels thanks to the efficient Quattro transmission associated with a dual-clutch seven-speed transmission.
The aluminum engine is also 26 kg lighter than its predecessor and uses a dual injection into the intake manifold and the chamber combustion, as well as the Audi valve lift SISTEAM for variable control of the exhaust valves allowing a whooping 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h. Awesome!
Discreet Interior and Exterior Design
At first glance, the 2017 Audi RS3 is discreet and doesn't mirror the power that its engine has. But this quality is what sets Audi apart from the rest, being discreet with lots of power. The RS3 sedan has an attractive grill honeycomb-shaped front and a front bumper specifically designed to improve airflow to the steps of wheel. In the case of the front axle, it harbors a track 20-14 millimeters wider than its predecessor. The generous 19-inch wheels fitted to the standard car is also eye-catching as it helps provide shelter to the generous brake system with 370 mm front discs and 310 behind.
In the inside, the attention to detail is a tradition at Audi and the RS3 Sedan has some attractive sports seats upholstered in nappa leather and a steering wheel flattened at the bottom. It who will also have a cutting edge infotainment system available thanks to the MMI .
The 2017 Audi RS3 sedan is not alone at the Paris Motor Show. It comes with its brother, the Audi RS3 LMS sports car, which is as impressive as ever too. Both versions are much anticipated but hopeful car owners should wait until spring of 2017 before the RS3 reaches U.S. and China dealers.
Take time awesome beast. We will be waiting.
