The merger between carmaker Tesla and Solar City has lately been drawing flak from people who used to consistently throw support at Musk's decisions, after doubts that the merger would not do much good, and instead, serve as a distraction for both in a very crucial time period.
Solar City has just recently rebounded in terms of overall growth predictions for three times in the past seven months, succeeding a slowing down of a number of new orders, while Tesla is still in the process of overcoming problems in terms of its production, given that it aims to increase its production rate.
Despite this criticism, though, the majority of Musk's ventures have a reputation of pulling things off and comes with some sort of bonus later on. The scheme adopted on product launching is like that of Apple and other electronic gadget makers.
The engineering, manufacturing, and design skills of Tesla are expected to help in allowing the panel technology to level up, by improving the aesthetic features of it. Furthermore, with Tesla being keen on investing huge amounts of capital could prove to be a great advantage for SolarCity, as it would help the company expand its services, from merely installing and funding the solar panels to actually manufacturing it themselves.
Despite this proposed initiative, the stakeholders of both companies must allow the deal to ensure, and both companies are expected to have the deal sealed in the fourth quarter of this year. The deal, however, has already been approved by its board, and that they would undergo a 45-day hunting period for other potential offers.
To this day, however, there has been no date set yet for a meeting for shareholders of the said company, and Musk has already stated that he would not put his shares up for voting. Despite all these conflicting beliefs and opinions, what can be made certain is that this merger would help give the world a brighter, greener, cheaper, and more sustainable future for energy and its resources.
