Concerned about the worrying habit, Pokémon Go creator, Niantic decided it is time for an update. From now on, if you are rapidly moving and it seems that you are in a vehicle, Pokémon Go will detect it and a popup message that says "You're going too fast! Pokémon Go should not be played while driving." will come up in your phone.
There will be an option beneath that will ask you to confirm if you are a passenger instead. Of course, there's still a loophole at this and dishonest drivers can simply hit that "I'm a passenger button" and they can continue playing.
With this, Niantic also has changed the crawl rate of Pokémon Go, making it 10 seconds now instead of the five seconds before. Thus, it is impossible to scan the entire surface long enough for Pokémons to appear if you are playing it in any means of transportation.
The only way to keep adding experience and capturing Pokémons will be if you go on foot, to an average of 5 km / h maximum.
The creators of Pokemon Go is not the only one that stopping you to play while driving. Creators of law too. This bad habit of driving and playing has been one of the major causes of road accidents in the world nowadays that some countries like Mexico and Taiwan will fine you for doing it.
