A personalized 2015 Toyota Sienna will be rocking out on an upcoming FOX Sports 2 episode that showcases the model's family appeal.
Revamped with a functioning DJ booth, the unusual project comes from car-personalizing company West Coast Customs and satellite radio service SiriusXM. The crew put five amplifiers and two 32-band equalizers into the minivan's audio system for a unique sound experience.
"Our team seized onto Toyota's Swagger Wagon concept to build a DJ minivan that is completely unexpected and sounds like a party ready to start," West Coast Customs founder and CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus said in a statement. "As a parent myself, I love the idea of combining fun and music with family life. Modifying this Toyota Sienna really let our team get super creative with sound, light and look."
The Sienna:Remix features two 40-inch LCD monitors, four subwoofers,16 speakers and two LED bars and will be seen on Sunday on FOX Sports 2. After its TV moment, the Sienna concept will travel around the United States for a tour that includes stops at festivals, auto shows and sports events.
"SiriusXM and West Coast Customs helped us demonstrate that parenting is an adventure, and this Sienna:Remix now can provide the soundtrack," said Kibo Kitahama, national manager of vehicle marketing and communications for Toyota.
Speaking of handy audio features, parents who are looking for a new minivan should remember that the Toyota Sienna has an optional "Driver Easy Speak" feature that lets the front seat communicate with the back seat through a one-way microphone.
According to Toyota, the system is intended "so parents don't have to shout to passengers in the back." Translated, that means "this feature gives you a handy way to tell your kids to be quiet as needed."
