A new report by ABC News claims pop-singer Beyonce didn't actually sing the Star-Spangled Banner live at President Obama's second inauguration this week.
"We all know Beyonce can sing," Master Sgt. of the U.S. Marine Corps Band Kristin Dubois told ABC News. "We all know the Marine Corps Band can play. We do not know why she decided to go with the pre-recorded music at the last minute."
Beyonce has yet to respond on the claim, nor have her representatives about whether the former Destiny's Child singer sang the song or not. Dubois confirmed though that the Marine Corps band was not playing while Beyonce was singing according to ABC News.
Many media outlets voiced their suspicion shortly after Beyonce's performance, including the Washingtonian magazine, who accurately stated it didn't sound nor did it look like Obama's Marine Corps Band was playing during her rendition of the song.
At one point, the singer seemed to have technical issues while singing, as she was seen taking out her ear piece. Dubois was unsure why the singer did so.
Washingtonian even pointed out that Beyonce posted a picture of the singer in studio with members of the Marine Corps Band in attendance. One band member can clearly be seen holding sheet music for the Star-Spangled Banner as well.

If it is true that Beyonce did in fact lip-sync the national anthem, she will forever be remembered as the first to do so during an inaugural performance.
In 2009, a live performance of cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Itzhak Perlman had to be changed due to heavy wind and cold weather. Recordings of their work were played instead as the two performers and two other musicians played along to a recording completed days before according to The New York Times.
