Actor Tom Cruise barely completed filming for his new action movie "Jack Reacher" after he was reportedly involved in a car collision with co-star Jai Courtney according to OK! Magazine.
The magazine reported that Cruise's crash was far from the only one to occur on set. Nine cars were totaled during the three weeks of shooting. Co-star David Oyelowo said to OK! that actors were involved in a number of dangerous chase scenes.

Oyelowo stated that Cruise and Courtney both lost control of their cars when the collision occurred. He said both actors were a little shaken up, but were able to walk away with no injuries.
"Nine cars were totaled during these three weeks of shooting," said Oyelowo to OK! Magazine. "At one point there was a collision between Tom and Jai Courtney where the air bag was deployed as well. No one got hurt. Safety was paramount but it was harrowing at points."
Director Christopher McQuarrie stated that technicians were around constantly on set in case something did happen during dangerous stunts. McQuarrie also said Cruise was "very involved" in the stunts that would appear in the film, often creating his own stunts less than an hour before filming a specific scene.
"Tom was very experienced driving (the cars) and he became very familiar driving two or three hours a day," said McQuarrie to OK! Magazine. "A clutch would break and then he'd have to know the new car, there were four different cars he was driving (for the film). Tom would come up with stunts 30 minutes before we would shoot them."
Paramount Pictures decided to delay the scheduled premiere of "Jack Reacher" on Dec. 15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania due to the deadly shootings in Connecticut on Dec. 14. Paramount stated that they were delaying the release out of respect for the families who lost loved ones.
"Due to the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, and out of honor and respect for the families of the victims whose lives were senselessly taken, we are postponing tomorrow's Pittsburgh premiere of "Jack Reacher," said Paramount in a press release. "Our hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones."
The film, which also stars Richard Jenkins is scheduled for a nationwide release on Dec. 21.
