It's Halloween, and that means it's the occasion for tricks, treats, and the time-honored traditions of spooky stories and costumes.
For automotive folks, that usually means cobbling together memories of electrical gremlins and spooky, cautionary tales of car buying and ownership. With modern cars as reliable and safe now as they ever were, we decided to take a bit of a different approach to deciding our favorite cars for the holiday.
Check out our survey of five orange vehicles that embody the Halloween spirit, and stay tuned for an upcoming review of The Great Pumpkin.
2015 Ford Fiesta ST
The Ford Fiesta ST is one of the last remaining drive-it-yourself joys of the automotive world. With a manual transmission and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, it's perfect for Mischief Night-or any night. And at under $25,000, it's an even sweeter treat.

2015 BMW i3
The BMW i3 is one of our favorite treats for the fall season, making just enough noise to disrupt the EV market. Just make sure to fully charge the battery-or spring for the optional range-extending gasoline engine-before setting off for a night of mischief and candy.

2015 Hyundai Veloster
Wherever the Hyundai Veloster three-door coupe goes, it's always in costume. Its unmistakable body shape is sharp and sporty, and with the optional turbo engine, it's a quick little scamp. It may look best in orange, but this coupe is no pumpkin.

2015 Fiat 500e
The Italian Fiat 500e is still new to Halloween, drawing on years of Carnivale pranks to inform its cheeky demeanor. You're only likely to see the 500e on candy runs in states with the zero-emissions mandate, as the EV isn't in all markets yet, but if you do, maybe toss in an extra mallomar for its costume's originality.

2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II
It wouldn't be Halloween if we didn't include a spirit on this list hence the addition of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II. Updated for 2015, the Ghost—which is no Trick at all—is now more polished and still spookily quiet inside. We wouldn't mind being seen trick-or-treating behind the wheel of a Ghost Series II.
