Honda and Acura have announced new models that will launch at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show, with the latter teasing a "substantially" refreshed 2016 ILX sedan.

Honda plans to launch its all-new HR-V compact crossover in North America on Nov. 19, the L.A. Times reported. Based on the Japanese automaker's Fit hatchback, the HR-V will be an entry-level model that sits under the CR-V.

While Honda hasn't yet provided details on the new HR-V, the subcompact crossover will probably run on the 130-horsepower, four-cylinder engine that powers the Fit. For cost comparison, the Fit is priced between $16,315 and $21,590.

The ILX draws more buyers under the age of 35 than any other model in the entry-premium sedan segment, Acura said in a press release. The new model will be unveiled on Nov. 20 in the Acura booth at the L.A. Auto Show.

According to Honda's luxury brand, "the 2016 ILX will bring a sharper performance focus while delivering a greater set of high-value comfort, convenience and safety features that consumers desire in the increasingly competitive entry-luxury field."

The current Acura ILX has two engine options: a 150-horsepower, 2-liter inline-four engine and a 201-horsepower, 2-liter mill that also powers the Honda Civic Si.

First launched in 2012, the ILX hasn't been a big hit for Acura, with the entry-level sedan selling 20,430 in 2013. Sales of the model fell nearly 16 percent through September of this year.

Acura hopes to boost the ILX with "a potent new powertrain, more forceful, sporty exterior styling and substantially upgraded interior design."

The luxury brand's lineup comprises the RLX luxury flagship sedan, the TLX performance luxury sedan, the ILX sport sedan, the five-passenger RDX luxury crossover SUV and the seven-passenger Acura MDX.

Scheduled for Nov. 21-30, this year's L.A. Auto Show is expected to feature a record 25 world debuts.
