BMW debuted a new version of its X5 SUV during the Moscow International Auto Salon last week that would take a bullet for its owner.
With the addition of reinforced shatterproof security glass and an "armored passenger cell" made of special steel built into the frame of the SUV, the new X5 Security Plus vehicle can take direct fire from an AK-47 assault rifle from 33 feet away
"The risk of armed violence, in particular, attack with automatic weapons like the AK-47, is a fact of everyday life for certain customers," BMW said of its line of security vehicles, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Other features include an eight-cylinder turbo-charged 450-hp engine and all-wheel-drive to provide quick getaways, on and off the road, if a driver is being shot at, according to the automaker.
The vehicle will likely cost customers more than $180,000.
The German automaker has three tiers of armored vehicles designed for three different threat levels: Security, Security Plus and High Security, according to BMW's website.
So what do you think of the vehicle? Is it something you'd be willing to spend $180,000 on?
