Apple's next iPhone, expected to be called the iPhone 6, has hit the "production validation test" stage, which is the final step before a device reaches mass production.
The news was first reported regarding Apple's next iPhone on Chinese social media site Weibo by local telecom expert Xiang Ligang, who cited sources from the Foxconn plant in Zhengzhou.
The post was then highlighted by G for Games on Wednesday.
Xiang feels that manufacturing is not "a problem" at this point, and the device remains on track for its supposed September release.
A number of leaked photos of iPhone 6 production this month have appeared online, showing the nearly complete device.
All of this supports the notion that the company will debut 4.7- and 5.5-inch iPhone devices on Sept. 9 for the first time ever.
If Apple follows sit's normal release schedule, Apple fans should expect the device to be released on September 19.
The launch of Apple's next iPhone is expected by many analysts to be the biggest in the company's history, with reports predicting orders of around 80 million units before the end of 2014.
Rumored specs for the next iPhone includes: 1704 x 960 pixel resolution, a faster A8 processor, camera upgrades, and a more durable, sapphire screen.
Apple's 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is expected to come with a 2,100mAh battery, according to a report analyst Sun Chang Xu in a report on Chinese social media site Sin Weibo.
Apple is also expected to debut a new wrist-worn "iWatch" before the end of the year. The device will track and deliver users health and fitness data.
It is expected to tie into the new Health app that will be featured in the iOS 8 mobile operating system.
Since Apple's touchscreen tablets are rumored to receive Touch ID fingerprint sensing home buttons in 2014, iPad Air and iPad mini updates are also expected by a number of media outlets.
