Manchester United will wear its brand new Chevrolet-sponsored shirt for the first time during its Chevrolet Cup match against the L.A. Galaxy at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
"Seeing our partnership with Manchester United come to life in a match is a huge moment for the brand and we want to share it with the club's 659 million followers around the world," said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. "The free livestream is just one example of how Chevrolet will use this partnership and our 'What Do You #PlayFor?' campaign to bring fans closer to this great sport and help them celebrate the passion for play."
Chevrolet launched its "What Do You #PlayFor?," a global campaign in March to inspire football fans and make an impact in places where play is needed.
As part of the campaign, the automaker hosted a Manchester United Soccer School clinic July 20 at the StubHub! Center in Carson, Calif.
A new video was released earlier this month showing Manchester United fans marching through the streets of Manchester along with current players and legends singing the "Glory, Glory Man Utd" anthem.
The video has been viewed more than 3 million times since being released.
Chevrolet will continue to celebrate the new shirt over the course of the next month, according to the release.
On Aug. 2, Chevy will be the presenting sponsor of Manchester United's first‑ever match in Michigan, at the University of Michigan's "Big House" in Ann Arbor vs. Real Madrid.
The match is part of the 2014 Guinness International Champions Cup.
To celebrate the occasion, Chevy said it will offer a free livestream of the match to fans all over the world.
The livestream and match will begin at 4:30 p.m. EDT. Click here to view the livestream.
