Jaguar Land Rover North America has announced that it is calling back approximately 68 2013-'14 Jaguar XF vehicles to repair rear brake pipes may leak brake fluid, according to a summary by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"In the affected vehicles, the right-hand rear brake pipe may wear against a bracket located on the rear sub-frame," NHTSA said. "This condition may cause the brake pipe to wear through and leak brake fluid. Leaking brake fluid can lengthen braking distance and increase the risk of a vehicle crash."
Affected XFs vehicles were manufactured from October 18, 2012 through February 25, 2014.
Jaguar Land Rover North America said the issue was discovered during durability testing, according to the NHTSA.
"There have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern," the automaker said regarding the issue to federal safety regulators.
Jaguar dealers are being instructed to inspect the rear brake pipe for signs of wear, manipulate the bracket on the rear sub-frame and inspect the rear brake pipes if wear is detected.
The rear brake pipes will be replaced, free of charge, if necessary.
The recall will begin on July 29, according to the NHTSA.
