A baby dolphin was rescued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on July 4th after being noticed by a crowd of beachgoers celebrating the holiday.
The four-foot mammal was spotted by beachgoers struggling near the shore of Redington Beach after beaching itself, according to local CBS affiliate WTSP.
The beachgoers attempted to get it back into the deep water, but the current was too strong.
The dolphin could be seen struggling until the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission showed up.
Once the trained officials showed up, they were able to carry the dolphin out of the surf.
The dolphin is now being cared for at a nearby Clearwater Marine Aquarium, according to

Pneumonia is common among beached dolphins, as are parasites.
Dolphins use sonar to navigate their way around, though scientists believe some of them are not able to see sloping beaches until it's too late. The dolphin then runs themselves aground, according to the Dolphin Communication Project.
Approximately 400 dead dolphins were found on Peruvian beaches in 2012 and 2013.
